Filing the e-Postcard with the IRS

If your chapter has gross receipts OVER $50,000, you are required to submit form 990 or 990-EZ with the IRS. Most chapters have gross receipts of $50,000 or less and therefore, must file the e-Postcard. The e-Postcard is due each year by the 15th day of the fifth month after the close of your tax year. For Alpha Chi Sigma, our tax year ends on Dec. 31, so your e-Postcard is due by May 15 each year. You cannot file the e-Postcard until after your tax year ends.

IRS e-Postcard Filing Tutorial

File the e-Postcard. This form must be completed and filed electronically. There is no paper form.

Read the FAQs and to find out the information you need to file the e-Postcard.

What happens if you don’t file the e-Postcard? You risk losing your tax-exempt status!

**The National Office will send each chapter instructions on how to complete the e-Postcard prior to the May 15 deadline.
