Fraternity Awards

Alpha Chi Sigma Awards

The Fraternity awards numerous awards to individuals and chapters, to both collegiate members and professional members. Some awards are presented at each Biennial Conclave, while others are awarded each year.

Fraternity Awards

Our past is prestigious.  Not only are many of our members world-class scientists and engineers, but we sponsor a variety of scholarships and awards. Notable ones are the ACS Award in Pure Chemistry and the AIChE Award in Chemical Engineering. With our involvement in other chemistry and chemical engineering professional organizations, our members are a bridge between these various organizations.

We are also very proud to recognize many of our members are Nobel Laureates. Alpha Chi Sigma also has a prestigious Hall of Fame featuring incredible members. ΑΧΣ also awards two levels of collegiate chapter awards within the Star Chapter Awards. Chapter Advisors can also be recognized through the Pflaum Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award.

However the highest award Alpha Chi Sigma bestows on one of its members is the John R. Kuebler Award presented for outstanding service to the Fraternity and outstanding service to the profession or accomplishment in the science of chemistry.

When accepting the Kuebler Award on September 14, 1965

I am highly honored to receive the John R. Kuebler Award - for two reasons. First: This award is the highest honor it is in the power of the Fraternity to give. Second: An award bearing the name of John R. Kuebler is of special significance. Certainly no member of Alpha Chi Sigma has ever given more of himself than he, and I doubt that anyone ever will.
